Respiratory Conditions
The action of Seagreens®’ unique range of polysaccharides (which Pitchford refers to as ‘mucilagenous gels’) may be especially complementary in herbal therapies.
“Seaweeds...contain soothing, mucilaginous gels...which specifically rejuvenate the lungs and gastrointestinal tract” (1).
Research conducted at the Russian State National Research Centre for Preventive Medicine in the early 1990s, demonstrated a 29.5% decrease in the incidence of bronchitis and other respiratory illness among 158 subjects given dried powder of wild wrack seaweed over 6 months (against 174 controls) with no side effect. The control group presented a 3.6% increase in the same illnesses.
