BIODYNAMIC & ORGANIC
Since the outset of production in 1997 Seagreens® have been wild harvested and produced in accordance with organic production and processing practices as defined within the UK Soil Association Organic Standards.
Between 1998 and 2000 Seagreens® were Certified Organic (EEC Regulation 2092/1) and until 2004 satisfied the requirements of the Soil Association Standards for Organic Farming & Production.
In 2004 Seagreens® were also approved by Demeter (the UK Biodynamic Agricultural Association) for use in Biodynamic and Organic Foods and Farming Systems.
In 2007 Seagreens® were likewise approved by Demeter in the United States of America. These Approvals cover the distribution and retail of Seagreens® throughout the United States, The European Community and Scandinavia.
GMO FREE
Seagreens® wild Arctic Wrack seaweeds are not the progeny of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or of products derived from the same. Seagreens® are not known to be capable of contamination by genetically modified organisms.
IRRADIATION FREE
Seagreens® are not irradiated at any point in their production or distribution to the consumer in the UK.
MANUFACTURING AND PHARMACEUTICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE
UK manufacturing is GMP Certified (Good Manufacturing Practice) by the UK Health Food Manufacturers' Association and an Affiliate of the Institute of Quality Assurance, employing full HACCP procedures. Seagreens® products are produced in a state-of-the-art Class 8/9 Pharmaceutical Clean Room and meet the requirements of the European Communities Act 1972 Regulations (EC) 178/2002, 852/2004, 853/2004, the Food Safety Act 1990, the General Food Regulations 2004, and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2005. At the point of harvesting, production quality control systems operate to TQS9000 corresponding to ISO9001/ISO9002.
BRITISH HERBAL PHARMACOPEIA
Seagreens® wild Arctic Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed complies with the specification of the british Herbal Pharmacopoeia for Ascophylli thallus (Fucacae).
KOSHER AND HALAL
Seagreens® vegetable capsules are Kosher Circle U Certified under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. UK manufacturing facilities are certified by the UK Kashrus and Medicines Information Service.
Halal certification is being applied for.
